Titans – S2 Ep13 – Nightwing Review

First off let me get this out of the way NIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHTTTTTTWIIIIIIIIIIINNGGGGGGGG GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Ok needless to say I was slightly excited for this episode and it did not disappoint! The opening ten minutes of the show was everything I’ve ever wanted in a live action TV show, Dick Grayson fighting Deathstroke in that suit gave me chills, I could watch an hour of it!

But there was more to this episode than just that, this episode was about the team as a whole, not the individual parts but what they can do together and what the will do for each other, how well they work when they’re all on the same page and they needed to be in the finale.

Gar and Conner are being controlled by Mercy Graves and Cadmus, Mercy is trying to sell off Conner as a super soldier programmed to do whatever she wants and using Gar as a threat to show off Conner’s skills to the highest bidder, but the problem with that is we have a newly reformed Titans with a very strong leader and they’ll stop at nothing to get their friends back!

While all these great moments are going on really solidifying the team, the unthinkable happens and we lose a member of the team, now I’ll be honest this moment felt a little bit out of nowhere but not in a shocking way, more in a ‘huh so that just happened’ way which felt a bit odd but it did add to the rest of the episode as this moment could’ve easily split the Titans again, but instead drew them together once again.

Lots happened in this Finale, it wasnt a massive big bad fight like a lot of shows tend to be in the last episode of the season, it was more a coming together story and I really enjoyed it, the team feels complete and ready for the next challenge.

We had a brief moment at the end pointing to the direction of the next season as it appears Blackfire is now on Earth looking for her sister!

I want more Titans and I want it now, this show is so good and so well done that I’m already hyped for Season 3, just a year to wait I guess……booooooo

Titans – S2 Ep12 – Faux-Hawk Review

We’re here, the penultimate episode of the season and we are so close to the debut of Nightwing! We get a hint at the suit but it stops before actually showing us, instead it was revealed in a unveiling event on social media, which if I’m honest is a little disappointing, I would’ve much rather seen the suit first time in the finale episode but with that being said the suit looks amazing!!! But that’s next week, what else is going on with the fractured team this week?

Well Hank is struggling, being on his own doesn’t fit him well and he’s cage fighting for money and once again has fallen off the wagon, which leads to no end of problems, he needs Dawn and he needs the Titans to keep him on the straight and narrow and keep him as his best self.

Meanwhile Rose reveals the true plan that her father had put in place to Jason, this is where we get pretty much the whole of Rose’s backstory and its awesome! But it doesn’t go down well with Jason, I’m intrigued to what they’re doing with Jason, obviously in the comics he gets killed by the Joker and returns later as Red Hood, you do get to see a lot of that attitude in the show but I wonder how far they’ll go with him?

Dawn and Donna are hot on the heels of Cadmus and very close to rescuing him, or is it too late as Cadmus operates phase one of their plan and where the hell is Conner in all this?

Then there’s Jericho, with the realisation that Jericho is alive we find out exactly how and its pretty amazing, Jericho used his powers and jumped into his fathers consciousness and is being held there by Slade so if Dick is going to save him its going to take a lot of ingenuity because what about his body? Can he even be separated from Slade again? And exactly how much Nightwing are we getting in the Finale??

This was a great episode, it does feel odd how we’re not necessarily building to a big bad showdown for the end of the season but more of a rescue mission, but I like that, it gives this season a different spin than the last.

It all ends next week and boy am I looking forward to it!

Titans – S2 Ep11 – E.L._.O. Review

If you can unite, you can face any threat

What the hell is going on??? So much craziness this week in Titans I dont know where to begin!! Dick is not in a good way after being beaten for helping the guys from last week escape and we all know what it means when Dick’s mind starts to wander, Bruce is back! But is he gonna be able to pull Dick out of his fever dream funk and back on track??

Talking of funks, Kory is not dealing well with her sister taking over her planet and stranding her on Earth, Dawn is trying to figure out whats next for her now her and Hank have split up, Rachel discovers that she may have murdered the father of her new friend and Donna is trying desperately to find Gar, but it would seem someone is pulling them all to the same place with the lure of donuts???

Gar is still stuck in Cadmus labs and appears to be going through some dangerous changes and Conner is nowhere to be seen, what exactly is Mercy Graves up to?? Then there’s Jason and Rose off living it up breaking into peoples homes and breaking up drug rings, they both begin to open up to each other but are they as open as they seem?

But this week we discover something huge that will change everything! Will it be enough to reunite the whole team or will it fracture them further apart? This week I was expecting answers and I felt like we got more questions which is cool but with only two episodes left of this season they’re going to be two very packed episodes!!!

Titans – S2 Ep10 – Fallen Review

Mr. Logan. I’m Mercy Graves. It’s an honor to meet you.

This week in Titans we get to focus on three main characters, Dick and the fallout from him attaching the cop at the airport, Gar and his issues with trying to look after Conner and Rachel with her need to brake away from the grown ups and be herself a bit more.

So it would appear that Dick feels like he needs to pay for what happened to Jericho, thus getting himself locked away (the justice system seems to work very quickly in the Titans universe….) and deciding that he’s done and doesnt want to help anybody, but thats just not Dick Grayson is it! There are always injustices that he can’t turn a blind eye to and a situation in prison shows him his true character and maybe even a symbol of what he could become…..

Krypto is a very clever boy and can ring door bells with his nose and brings Gar and Conner back together but that doesnt solve their issues as Mercy Graves and Cadmus have much greater plans for the boys Beast and Super. Also Gar I dont think Dick is gonna get your messages as he’s currently doing 7 years of hard time, hopefully someone else with a bit more wonder can help!

Lastly there’s Rachel, still not in complete control of her powers but she seems to be getting some kind of handle on them, well to degree. Has she found a new group of outcasts that she can join or is this just another situation thats going to get out of hand quickly??

Lots of questions posed by this weeks episode and with only 3 episodes left we need a lot of answers and quick!

Titans – S2 Ep9 – Atonement Review

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step…

Things are looking bleak for the Titans this week. We are back in present day and dealing with the fallout of Dick’s secret, needless to say it doesn’t go down too well with pretty much everyone.

However we are given an awesome episode heavily featuring Gar who we haven’t really seen much of this season so it’s great that he was able to be a huge focus this week, in a side note his room is awesome and he has some great taste in trainers (I’m a huge fan of Jordan 1’s lol). We also get the awakening of Conner, seeiming like he’s back at full strength can he be a reason to keep the Titans together?

Kory is dealing with some home truths herself with Faddei having broken out of her ship and back to inform her everything thats going on back on Tamaran and her sister Blackfire. And Hank and Dawn are trying to figure out who they are and what they mean to the world and indeed to each other.

Then there’s Dick, oh Dick what’s happened, everything seems to be going wrong with the leader of the Titans, you’d think telling all his secrets would bring about some kind of peace but far from it, where does he go from here? where do they all go??

Another great episode this week, I’m so intrigued where this season is going, you have to hope we finish with the Titans at full force but i guess we’ll have to wait and see!
